Frontend engineers are responsible for the user-facing side of a website. They deal with the interactive features and displays that appear for users when viewing through a web browser. Frontend engineers should have a working knowledge of scripts used to create the necessary frontend elements. These include HTML, CSS, Javascript and other scripting languages. The main focus for a frontend engineer is to manage the user experience through creating and modifying a website's HTML.
Because of the increasing use of mobile browsers in many countries, frontend engineers are now expected to be familiar with creating websites that provide a good user experience for mobile and computer users. 2017 saw an increase in demand for frontend engineers, with an upward demand trend expected to continue.
