The role of a Front-end Engineer is to program the parts of the website that the end user sees. These can include navigation buttons, text boxes, animations, forums and games. A Front-end Engineer must be able to analyze the needs of the company or organization's website audience and develop design and specifications based on these needs with managers, marketers and other technical staff. They create templates, pages and applications that web developers can use. Front-end Engineers should know programming languages like CSS, JavaScript and HTML.
The qualifications needed to become a Front-end Engineer include a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and a solid understanding of networking, communications, mathematics and data management. Front-end Engineers should also demonstrate expertise in internet coding, software toolkits, web design and user interactivity.
