The job of a Front-end Engineer is to bring the concepts of a designer to life using programming languages like CSS, HTML and JavaScript. The Front-end Engineer is also responsible for the production, maintenance and modification of company websites and web application user interfaces. They create tools to enhance how the user sees and experiences a website. A Front-end Engineer implements responsive design for mobile sites, tests sites for usability and is responsible for fixing any bugs.
Front-end Engineers should be familiar with a variety of frameworks like Foundation, Bootstrap, JQuery, and AngularJS. Front-end Engineers may need to know Semantic UI, Yeoman, Pure.css and Skeleton.css too. They typically have a degree from a four-year college in Computer Science or a related technical field.
