Product Designer Job Description

Product designers lead the charge during the creation of new products or equipment. Their work process typically involves designing the product, creating a model, supervising the production of prototypes and testing for potential flaws. They may also be responsible for sketching initial designs, identifying the right materials and making presentations to management or client for evaluation.

Product designers often work alongside engineers during the planning phase of a project. Most product designers are skilled in the use of dedicated computer programs (CAD). They also have a degree in product design or a related program like Spatial Design or Industrial Design. They may work as a freelancer or a full-time employee in different industries, including commerce, retail and industrial manufacturers.

Home to the second largest population in the country, Los Angeles is famous for its entertainment industry, but it also boasts a diverse mix of fashion, technology, research and business sectors. The city‰Ûªs financial district has several major companies, including the Bank of America, US Bancorp and Deloitte. Traffic in the city can be tasking, so instead of driving, many of the residents prefer to use the bus as their primary means of transit.

Los Angeles offers a little of something for almost everyone, with many restaurants, museums, beaches and hiking trails. The city has a patchwork of unique neighborhoods. Venice is a popular tourist attraction and a nice spot for soaking up some beach sun. Other popular neighborhoods include the Culver City, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey and Hollywood Hills West.
