A QA Test Automation Engineer is responsible for both the creation and execution of a variety of automated tests to quality assurance of the company's product. This job's duties include the creation and implementation of various tests, defining actions that need corrections and debugging them, and tracking metrics for quality assurance. A QA Test Automation Engineer is also responsible for designing, developing and executing automated scripts using open source tools. They will also perform regression testing to resolve bugs, develop new testing processes and apply them and write clear test plans.

To qualify for a job as a QA Test Automation Engineer, applicants should be experienced working with software quality assurance and development. They should also have knowledge of scripting, SQL white and black box testing and using the Agile/Scrum development process. Additionally, QA Test Automation Engineers should also have a degree from a four-year college in a technical field such as Computer Science.
