Product Designer Job Description

The duties of a Product Designer range from creating new products to enhancing existing ones. Product Designers may also be employed to work on projects outside of traditional manufacturing, such as a company‰Ûªs service offering or the look and feel of a new consumer app.

The main focus of a Product Designer is to take products from concept to finished design, and in many cases, the designer will continue to oversee the product through subsequent stages that may include prototyping, testing and commercial production. Product Designers are often assigned to a team that includes other designers, engineers and a product manager. A high level of conceptual and analytical skills are required to be a successful Product Designer.
