Search Engineer Job Description

A Search Engineer plays a key role in helping companies attract the kind of users that need to find them. Whether it is to buy a product or service, connect with a group, or gather information, when users search for certain words or topics they need to be able to connect with the right websites. That is where the Search Engineer comes in.

To qualify for a Search Engineer position, applicants should have experience with search infrastructures and frameworks. They should also be familiar with operating systems like Linux and have experience building SAAS applications. Search Engineers should have knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design techniques and Ruby or Java development experience. Search Engineers generally have a degree from a four-year college in Computer Science or a related technical field. They lead and drive production escalations and execute root-cause analysis.
