The role of a Mobile Engineer is to design and build mobile applications. This role often requires collaboration with other technical teams and engineers within a company. A Mobile Engineer translates code into user-friendly applications that can be accessed from mobile devices. The responsibilities of a Mobile Engineer include designing interfaces that improve the user's experience, optimizing the mobile app's performance by troubleshooting and debugging errors, making sure that new and legacy applications both meet quality standards, staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and making suggestions for new mobile products and applications.
To qualify for a Mobile Engineer position, applicants should know at least one programming language like Java or Swift, have excellent analytical skills and familiarity with OOP design principles. Since this is often a collaborative effort, they should work well in a team environment too. Most Mobile Engineers have a degree in computer science or another related technical field.
Boston is a city rooted in US history, yet still a very modern city. US News ranked it as the #8 best place to live in the US. Salaries are high and there are plenty of jobs, especially in the professional, technical and scientific services industries. Finance, insurance and health services also employ a large number of people. The city has plenty of old, historical landmarks to visit, yet lots of fun, vibrant entertainment for the young (or young at heart).
