A Visual UI Designer executes all of the visual design stages from conception to the point of handing it off to engineering. Visual UI Designers collaborate with different teams like project management and engineering to define and implement new and innovative solutions for a product's direction, visuals and experience. They create ideas that are orignal, simple and user friendly for complex design road blocks. Visual UI Designers also create storyboards, wireframes, user flows, site maps and process flows that effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
The requirements to be hired as a Visual UI Designer include experience working with UI, proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle or another visual design and wire-framing tools. They should also stay up to date with the latest UI trends and technology and be proficient in JavaScript, HTML and CSS for rapid prototyping. A Visual UI Designer should also be sensitive to the user-system interaction when creating designs.
