A QA Manual Test Engineer uses quality assurance testing to test software using manual processes. The QA Manual Test Engineer searches for and reports any glitches or bugs and must have a keen eye for detail. QA Manual Test Engineers must also execute test cases regularly to ensure that the company's applications, products and systems all work correctly.
To be hired for this role, applicants need to have related experience such as working in project management or a similar role. QA Manual Test Engineers should have knowledge of Agile frameworks, SQL, regression testing and test management software such as qTest and Zephyr. They also need exceptional analytical skills and the ability to communicate well with other members of the technical team. A bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or a related field is generally required.
