A QA Manual Test Engineer is responsible for assessing software through quality assurance testing. Testing is performed using manual processes. The QA Manual Test Engineer looks for and reports any bugs and glitches. This job requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to execute test cases to ensure that the company's products, systems and applications function properly.
To be hired as a QA Manual Test Engineer, an applicant should have prior related experience such as working as a project manager or in a similar role. Additional requirements include knowledge of Agile frameworks, regression testing, SQL and test management software such as qTest and Zephyr. QA Manual Test Engineers should also have good analytical skills, attention for detail and the ability to effectively communicate. A BA/BS in computer science, engineering or a related field is often required.
