Solutions Engineer Job Description

Solutions Engineers interface directly with customers in order to attain customers' requirements quickly and cost-effectively. Duties of most solutions engineers include interacting with clients, collecting client data, reviewing logs, following up on problems, identifying recurring problems, creating and implementing solutions and overseeing the issue resolution. Skillsets that candidates should possess include technical abilities, problem solving, customer service, attention to detail, organizational skills and computer proficiency. Communication skills with both the client and the programming teams are essential. Candidates should hold a bachelor‰Ûªs degree in an engineering field.

Living and Working in Chicago

Chicago is known for its infrastructure and telecommunications and other industries. Some local tech companies include One North Interactive, NowSecure, Braintree and Raise. Chicago also has many suburbs and neighborhoods to choose from. Lakeview, for instance, is a fun, eclectic and family-friendly neighborhood. For more excitement, apartments can also be found near Wrigley Field, as well as closer to theaters and restaurants. Uptown is a neighborhood that offers many attractions such as old theaters like The Riviera, thrift shops and Art Deco buildings. There are several Asian restaurants as well as many budget-friendly restaurants all with easy access to the L train. Near North Side is a neighborhood that is more residential than other downtown neighborhoods. There is a good mix of vintage apartments as well as newer buildings and high rises. The area is known for the Magnificent Mile and Gold Coast districts, which include attractions like the Chicago Water Tower and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
