Site Reliability Engineers are specialty IT professionals that have several responsibilities including improving application lifecycle, tweaking software systems in order to raise their reliability, monitoring application performance and ensuring overall system health. The software could very well be housed in a cloud environment so knowledge of virtual computing is a plus. Site reliability engineers need to be able to find and leverage automation tools that can decrease deployment times, reduce downtime and increase reliability.
