Gaming Engineer Job Description

Gaming engineers work alongside teams of testers, programmers and illustrators to design, develop and create new video games. They usually have knowledge of information management, software engineering, 2D and 3D animation, as well as artificial intelligence. These specialized software engineers create coding sequences for game play on various mobile devices, computer and gaming systems. Gaming engineers are familiar with integrated circuit testers and application servers. They run tests, as well as review codes to figure out what needs to be redone or changed completely. Gaming engineers can be involved with programs that control how characters act, look, feel and move. They can also create a storyline, background scenes and other interactions throughout a game. Gaming engineers understand data structures and designs. interactive and digital media, as well as Java programing.
