A QA Test Automation Engineer's primary role is to automate as much of the testing effort as they can using a minimal set of codes and scripts. A QA Test Automation Engineer must apply the appropriate type of automation technologies to meet the goals of the testing organization. Specific responsibilities and deliverables are dependent on both the test phase and the automation framework. Some of these responsibilities may include things like unit testing, function and system testing, acceptance testing, record and playback frameworks and load performance.
To be hired as a QA Test Automation Engineer, applicants should have some proven work in software development and experience in software quality development. They also need to have strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes as well as SQL and scripting. QA Test Automation Engineers should also be familiar with working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
