A NLP, or Natural Language Processing Engineer, is responsible for developing products that depend on an intelligent processing of the human language by a computer. Examples of this are a system that can summarize news articles, a system that recognizes and understands human speech and an intelligent tutoring system.
An NLP Engineer job candidate should have a solid background in natural language processing, machine learning, text mining and information theory and retrieval. Being fluent in multiple languages is a plus. Most employers will look for a degree in computer science and machine learning.
