A QA Test Automation Engineer creates a variety of automated tests and executes them to test for quality assurance. Some of the many responsibilities of this important role include debugging, defining actions that require corrections, implementing the tests they design and tracking quality assurance metrics. Additionally, a QA Test Automation Engineer may develop and execute automated scripts using open source tools. They also test and develop processes for clients, perform regression tests and resolve any software bugs.
A QA Test Automation Engineer candidate generally has a Computer Science degree or a degree in a related field. They are familiar with using scripting and SQL as well as testing and using the Agile and Scrum development processes. QA Test Automation Engineers work with both white and black box and are familiar with software development and software quality assurance.
