Business Analysts perform a variety of tasks all of which condenses into one primary goal—improving the operations of a company or business. They often assist in the implementation of technical solutions into existing business systems. By carefully reviewing operations data, successful Business Analysts are able to identify potential deficiencies or weakness. They are also able to make recommendations on solutions that can help streamline operational needs.
Business Analysts may work in a full-time position within a company or be employed as consultants to conduct analyses. While there is no specific academic path to becoming a Business Analyst, most candidates have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or any business related field.
