Hi, I’m Lisa Dahlke, Co-founder and CRO of Localyze. Localyze offers a platform that simplifies all aspects of global mobility. 

We support companies and their employees through any type immigration or global mobility challenge, including obtaining a visa, relocating new hires, opening new locations, and transferring between offices. We manage all aspects of the process from start to finish and take all paperwork off our customers’ shoulders, making it easier for companies to hire and work across borders. This is what lies at the heart of our mission and what we do: breaking down borders for talent everywhere.

What a great mission! Sounds like a concept born out of a true passion. 

Yes! Localyze was born out of a passion to address the challenges of crossing borders. Back in 2018, my co-founders Hanna, Franzi, and I each had our own experiences with how non-transparent and confusing the immigration space can be and were all convinced that it doesn’t have to be that way. Additionally, having worked in HR previously, I had relocated over 300 people and had seen how time-consuming and complicated it was for others as well. 

Localyze aims to take all the headache, confusion and paperwork burden out of managing immigration and global mobility processes and make it 100% transparent for HR teams and their international talent. We want to build a role model for international teams operating across borders. 

Today, we’ve relocated over 5,000 people from many of the most people-centric and fastest scaling tech companies in the world who work with us (e.g. Trade Republic, SumUp, Personio, TIER Mobility).

How does Hired fit into this vision to be a role model in the space?

We’re so excited to be partnering with Hired – we see many opportunities and synergies between our two organizations. Whilst Hired matches tech and sales talent with companies, Localyze can handle the visa and relocation side of international hires. There’s a natural handover once an international candidate has been hired and when the immigration process starts. For a company to be guided through that end-to-end journey by Hired and Localyze together is a huge value add. Together we can support companies in bringing their international hiring strategies to life and enable even more talent to have overseas opportunities. 

What’s more, Hired is committed to building a world where hiring is equitable and fair, and we support this very same mission – we want to build a borderless world where everyone has access to the same opportunities, regardless of nationality or country of origin. Together we can impact talent movement in a meaningful way, and this is very exciting.

Tell us more about the initiatives Localyze focuses on to lend to transparency and equity in hiring. 

Localyze is committed to providing equal opportunities. To promote the free movement of talent across borders, Localyze has partnered with The Imagine Foundation, helping to relocate talent from Afghanistan and Ukraine. We provide free resources and relocation support from anyone fleeing from Ukraine and Afghanistan, with more information here

We also feel it’s important to change the narrative around immigration in Europe. In order to do this, we’ve launched the Open Employer pledge to shape and influence the openness of immigration into Europe. As part of this we, together with other employers who also support the cause, pledge to offer equal opportunities for migrants within our company, support migrants in their relocation, and promote a positive narrative around labor migration.

That sounds like an impressive initiative, thank you for enlightening our network! 

Speaking of great – tell us about the great news you shared in early September. 

We were pleased to raise our Series B to continue building a borderless world, especially as we gear up to land and expand. Today, we support most major European employment hubs and markets, and will be expanding to support US immigration at the end of this year. We have ambitious aims when it comes to the amount of talent that we want to be able to support, and are getting there one relocation at a time.

Earlier this year we also launched a major redesigning of our HR app, and are now moving onto redesign other parts of the platform. User centricity is super crucial to us and we are excited to be part of shaping what HR tech experiences can enable. We never forget the human side of things and providing the best employee experience has always been really important to us. All of us have been through the relocation pain ourselves and we can really empathize with how challenging it can be to move your whole life to a new country. We really want talent to feel supported throughout the end-to-end process.
