Site Reliability Engineers have the rewarding career of ensuring that fault-tolerant, large-scale systems are created and maintained and that both internal and external systems are reliable with a minimum amount of downtime as possible. This ensures that clients and users are able to use a system that is both responsive and easy to use. Site Reliability Engineers need to have a minimum of a four-year college degree in computer science or a related technical field that uses coding, such as mathematics or physics, because the position is very detail oriented and highly technical. Most Site Reliability Engineers are fluent in one if not more of the following computer languages: C, C++, Java, Ruby and Python.
