Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. Owned by Samsung Electronics Corporation Ltd., SAS is the only semiconductor manufacturing plant located outside of Korea. SAS manufactures logic components for digital services, personal computers, mobile phones, workstations and servers. Since 1997, SAS has been at the forefront of manufacturing technology, enabling the world's digital devices to operate at the highest performance.

Systems Operations/Quality engineering position to support FAB, responsible for sustaining, maintenance, and administration of critical operational systems 24x7. The systems operations engineer will be assigned 1 or more system modules within the Systems Operations team. The engineer will serve in a critical role within a high-paced manufacturing environment responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of internal system applications. The engineer will be required to provide exceptional customer support to fab, as well as working closely with other internal systems engineers, located both locally and overseas. The engineer must be highly motivated and have a desire to make improvements and deliver results in an effort to support the company's performance, efficiency & cost reduction initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities

* Manage change points within established rules and policies
* sQA, Replay (Automated Test System) test are conducted for locally developed or GH standardization code before releasing into a production platform.
* Communicate system change points and issue resolutions clearly to members in the department and internal customers in the company
* Conduct analysis across line production and systems to make recommendations to improve system reliability
* Plan for periodic preventative maintenance activities and provide awareness of system performance and reliability
* Guide and give direction to vendors/technicians on troubleshooting system issues
* Monitoring, debugging, tracing system issues
* Provide exceptional customer support to engineering departments
* Ensure data source validity for accurate report results and conduct query tuning for performance improvements
* Work with international (Korea) and local team members to resolve issues and ensure proper integration with other related systems
* Shift: 1st - Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

* BS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related major
* 1+ years of related experience in a professional environment
* Strong troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge/Experience with Oracle & SQL Server Databases
* Must have understanding of SQL; Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle experience preferred.
* Basic understanding of System Architectures (Software & Hardware Interactions, Networks)
* Knowledge/Experience with both Windows & Unix Environments
* Knowledge/Experience with dotNetFramework and Web development
* Ability to clearly communicate technical details in both verbal and written forms.
* Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
* Experience working with source code repositories
* Flexible with work hours to attend conference calls with developers in Korea
* Be able to support 24x7 manufacturing environment
