Ruby on Rails
What is Ruby on Rails?
Created by David Heinemeier Hansson, Ruby on Rails is a web framework built for simplicity and ease-of-use. It jumped onto the scene with the now famous "Build a Blog in 30 Minutes" video, and democratized building websites using server-side rendered HTML. Many companies either started or continue to use Ruby on Rails, including Twitter, Shopify, Goodreads, GitHub, and BleacherReport. Now on version 5.1, there have been many meaningful improvements and upgrades since its creation in 2004. Rails is comprised of a number of components including ActionView, ActionController, ActionCable, ActiveRecord, ActiveSupport, etc.
