What is Android?
Android is an open source mobile operating system created by Google. Globally, it is the most popular operating system, followed by Apple's iOS. Applications for Android are typically developed in Java, though Kotlin may also be used. Limited support exists for Go. Whereas iOS is designed to run exclusively on Apple mobile devices, any mobile device manufacturer can include Android on their devices. Google provides a set of standards that devices are supposed to adhere to in order to standardize the experience, though in practice, these standards are not always met by all Android devices.
