This field requires highly skilled individuals who are also very technical, and those who are in it must be very hands-on when it comes to system programming, sensory integration and development of vision components.
AR/VR Engineers must have a firm grasp on coding and debugging large-scale programs, as well as be able to write complex, real-time applications. For most companies, ARM and clinics experience is a huge plus as well as being able to develop image processing algorithms. Excellent communication and documentation skills are also paramount. When it comes to education, an undergraduate degree in computer science is the minimum, though graduate level degrees may also be required.
