This position is at the intersection of entertainment and technology. You will work with a small team of software developers in the Consumer Entertainment Technology group in San Francisco, focusing on Professional Products and Solutions that serve the Broadcast industry. Your software will be used globally for the creation, transmission and exhibition of entertainment using Dolby's latest technologies.

Responsibilities:

* Work within a Scrum team of developers, QA, UX, and Product Managers to deliver professional audio software for broadcast workflows.
* Develop reliable, secure and scalable solutions for Dolby media microservices on the cloud.
* Investigate and solve problems in audio applications.
* Design and develop user-interfaces for professional broadcast workflows.
* Learn and develop software components for Dolby audio technologies.
* Create and maintain software requirements and design specifications.
* Stay abreast of industry software development tools, trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

Required

* B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or comparable field
* 0 - 3 years professional experience in software development
* Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills
* Good understanding of distributed systems, multi-threading and real-time software design
* Knowledge of cloud-based media services on AWS/GCP/Azure
* Experience with software application development for Linux
* Experience with version control systems like Git or P4
* Fast learner, solid problem solver, with great testing and debugging skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Interest and/or experience in audio & video technologies

Additional / Desired Skills

* Experience in (real-time) audio software development
* Experience developing commercial, scalable and secure microservices
* Experience with media-based services and / or frameworks such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, VLC, DirectShow
* Experience working with Docker
* Experience with open source projects
* Understanding of full-stack product needs and requirements
* Basic understanding of digital signal processing theory
* Basic understanding of audio codec technologyExperience with GUI development
