Position available for an Senior IT Enterprise Monitoring Administrator located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:

* Perform a lead role in implementation and optimization of network functionality and operations within the organization with an emphasis placed on management of Enterprise Management tools, and the monitoring of the network's Incident Management processes to include configuration of network software and monitoring tools.
* Review and improve existing network monitoring processes and identify areas and gaps needing process definition; recognize recurring problems in the network-monitoring infrastructure; plan and initiate corrective actions.
* Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiency gains in the areas of on call network support, notifications, and escalations using tools such as xMatters or Alarmpoint.
* Plan and implement solutions to automate network administration and monitoring processes. Identify solutions to monitor the network business applications (HTTP/HTML, SAP, Citrix, Client-Server, and Cloud based) and implement the network availability tests and performance monitoring.
* Based upon the network requirements, implement the agent based or agentless monitoring for infrastructure components like Windows Servers, Red Hat Linux, HP UX Servers, Sun Solaris Servers etc.
* Apply expertise with industry standard enterprise network/applications and infrastructure monitoring tools from external vendors such as: MicroFocus (Previously HPE), Microsoft, CA Technologies, Tivoli, and BMC.
* Create synthetic transaction monitoring scripts using VuGen (Loadrunner) to test network application performance and availability from various geographic locations.

Basic Requirements:

* Master's degree in a field of Computer Science, Information Technology or Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 3 years experience in the position or in a related computer network administration or network application monitoring occupation. IN the alternative, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Electrical/Electronics Engineering combined with 5 years progressive experience in the position or in a related computer network administration or network application monitoring occupation will be acceptable.
* 3 years experience employing MicroFocus Monitoring Software tools to execute network IT Enterprise Management, including MicroFocus: Operations Manager i; Application Performance Management; Network Node Manager i; SiteScope; Universal Configuration Management Database; Business Process Monitor; and Virtual User Generator.
