Hughes Network Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Field Engineer to support the OneWeb project. This position is based out of our headquarters in Germantown, MD however this position does travel.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee installation, testing, operations, and maintenance of OneWeb satellite gateways deployment
* Provide technical support to the field installation team and customer that may require off hours responses.
* Maintain equipment inventory and configuration management records, including software releases, patches, etc. Ensure compliance with applicable standards
* Perform integration testing, fault isolation, and troubleshooting on OneWeb Satellite gateways.
* Develop installation specifications and technical support documentation.
* Travel could be up to 50% or more on any given month and flexibility is a must

Basic Requirement:

* 5+ years of experience as a technician in the field
* Ability to travel on short notice to US or International destinations

Preferred qualification

* Bachelors degree in Engineering
* Satellite Earth station RF equipment installation and maintenance experience.
* Experience with LAN/WAN industry standards, and working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet configuration and functionality
* Self-motivated and independent
* Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, customer relations, written and oral communication skills
* Experience with LAN/WAN industry standards, and working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet configuration and functionality
* Working knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
