Job Description
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is currently seeking a Principal Virtualization Engineer 3 with a TS/SCI and Polygraph Clearance. This position is located in Fairfax, Virginia, supporting a large Cyber and Intel program.
Responsibilities:
* Support the full product lifecycle of virtualization platforms
* Author standard operating procedures for virtual machine builds, snapshots, updates, migrations and so forth
* Monitor the virtual environment for performance and make recommendations for enhancements
* Install and maintain VMware and VDI infrastructure components, to include applying routine security patches and product updates
* Assist with capacity planning of virtual global and regional environments
* Implement standardized builds to assist with configuration management best practices
* Mitigate security findings to maintain security baseline and accreditation
* Actively participate in project technical designs to incorporate virtualization best practices and document system designs to support engineering review board activities
* Provide technical consultancy to customers to support the implementation of capabilities within the virtual infrastructure
* Timely respond to and resolve issues that may arise in the virtual regional or global infrastructure environment(s)
* Document the virtual infrastructure architecture and update the system documentation as changes are made to help ensure system design artifacts are accurate and complete
* Create and publish guidelines for other teams who may work with the platform
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, a Master's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience, a PhD with no experience, or a total of 9 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Experience administrating and maintaining a large, multi-vendor IT operations department that supports global business critical systems
* Demonstrated experience configuring, troubleshooting and managing VMware vSphere versions 5.0 and up, VCSA, ESXi, and related VMware components
* Experience with VMware management and monitoring tools (ex. VUM, vRealize, etc)
* Intermediate or advanced experience with scripting languages, such as Powershell
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experienced/knowledgeable with Citrix 7.0 and Up - Configuring, troubleshooting, optimizing and managing Citrix infrastructure, including but not limited to XenApp, VDI, and NetScaler
* Proficient with storage (NAS/SAN) (ex. NetApp, EMC etc.)
* Working knowledge and understanding of networking, system design, ports & protocols
* Strong knowledge in core Microsoft technologies and platforms: Windows Server 2008 R2/2012, Active Directory, Group policy, IIS, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server
* Proficiency with Linux RHEL/CentOS operating systems
* STEM Degree
* AWS Certification or hands-on experience
