Network Administrators play a critical role in companies. They’re tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of a network. Their duties may include installing network hardware, optimizing network performance as well as making hardware and software upgrades. Network Administrators also assign user access, troubleshoot networks and may recommend network upgrades based on new organization needs or emerging technologies.

Most Network Administrators work in full-time positions in different industries, including tech, manufacturing, finance and healthcare. According to 2016 projections by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of Network Administrators will grow by 20 percent within the computer system industry, as more companies make the switch to cloud computing.
