The Product Web team is dedicated to modernizing Tumblr. You will play a key role in modernizing features used by millions of passionate users daily. Utilizing highly concurrent, high traffic services you will build the future of Tumblr's web presence.

What you'll do:

* Tackle hard problems that impact content creators and consumers on Tumblr.


* Modernize existing features and develop new features that will engage millions of users worldwide


* Build reusable code and libraries for future use


* Collaborate with a cross functional team of engineers, product managers and designers


* Contribute to product discussions and planning of large engineering tasks


* Ensure quality of code base by writing tests and doing code reviews


* Recommend modifications to processes and procedures, and contribute to best practices, architecture and implementations


* Solve challenging performance and reliability issues



Who we're looking for

An ideal team member is someone with:

* Strong JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5 fundamentals and an understanding of how web browsers work


* An ability to drive projects independently


* Dreams to innovate and bring new things into the world


* A strong sense of pragmatism and the ability to decide what's "good enough" (and when to iterate)


* Working knowledge of modern API design patterns and principles


* An understanding of code quality, unit test coverage, and site performance


* Motivation to directly improve the business's bottom line


* Empathy and the desire to elevate those around them


* The belief that it is just as much about the journey as the destination
