Job Description: The System Engineering and Integration Center (SEIT) is seeking a strong, technically sound engineer who is committed and passionate about the operations and performance maintenance for complex remote sensing applications. The successful candidate will be a member of the National Space Systems Organization and will provide engineering guidance for the operations of payload subsystems to include performing telemetry analysis and trending, execution of required maintenance activities, execution of engineering studies, updating and execution of operational processes, and problem resolution. Duties will include maintenance of long term history, telemetry limits, trending analysis, and preparation of reports, briefings, and correspondence as required.

The candidate will respond to and support resolution of subsystem and ground anomalies as well as unplanned outages. Candidate will be part of an on-call Engineering Team who supports special tests, software baseline transitions, and other test activities as required. Candidate will be expected to perform special studies and analysis as directed to enhance the performance and availability of the subsystem.

The candidate will provide quality engineering work products to an Integrated Product Team (IPT), interact with adjacent engineering disciplines, and work with experts in various disciplines (planning, command and control, engineering, etc.) in the execution, integration, verification, and testing of operational systems.

* Required Skills:

Minimum 2 years of applied engineering experience with a systems engineering background

Technical background

Experience building strong relationships and effectively partnering with internal resources, interested in developing relationships and working in a team environment

Possess analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication capability, and ability to work in an integrated product team environment

Motivated self-starter with demonstrated leadership skills shown through participation in professional, community and extracurricular activities

Must be a strong team player, have effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrate good interpersonal skills

Organized, and detail oriented

U.S. Citizenship and ability to access US only data systems

Active DoD TS/SCI or SSBI clearance is required on Day 1 of employment

Desired Skills:

Experience with hardware and/or software integration, verification and validation

Experience with requirements verification planning, system acceptance testing, test data analysis, test program definition, and test procedure generation

Familiarity or basic understanding of the following: Perle, Python, SQL, MATLAB, Linux/Unix operating systems

Ability to troubleshoot complex planning and scheduling issues

Able to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities

Program planning and execution

Demonstrated strong judgment and decision making abilities

Willingness to anticipate, drive and foster change management

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related technical field

Desired Education:

Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related technical field.
