Job Description

Whole Foods Market is seeking an R10 Systems Admin to join our Retail Technical Operations team responsible for managing and supporting new and existing technology solutions across the retail footprint. This professional level retail operations role is responsible for the deployment and management of our Point of Sale (POS) infrastructure. Day-to-day activities include supporting and troubleshooting issues with Point of Sale solutions. Collaboration and communication are essential as the POS Systems Administrator will work closely with other technology teams, vendors, and business partners to build win-win relationships. The internal job title is Information Systems Administrator.

Job Description

* Support automated tools to perform maintenance tasks to install, configure, test, patch, and upgrade MS server 2012 and 2016, MS Windows 10 and MS Windows 7 embedded systems
* Work with Development and Engineering teams to automate, build, and test Point of Sale (POS) software releases for deployment via SCCM to ensure smooth code rollouts
* Configure, implement, monitor, and maintain QA and production environments
* Provide business-hours and after-hours Tier 4 support of retail infrastructure environment on a rotational basis
* Troubleshoot system malfunctions and other unsatisfactory occurrences to be able to provide analysis and recommendations for resolution and prevention
* Monitor and analyze system performance to provide recommendations for improvement, including system tuning and hardware integration
* Provide input into system design and capacity planning
* Provide documentation and training to Tier 2 Store Support teams
* Be involved in external vendor management issues
* Some travel will be required (up to 5-10% annually)

Basic Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience with MS Active Directory for system configuration and security policy enforcement
* Experience with NCR/Retalix R10 Point of Sale (POS)
* Experience with system hardware architecture and implementation
* Strong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
* Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP protocols and application
* Experience providing remote support and troubleshooting
* Exposure to and experience with PowerShell and PowerShell Scripting
* An ability to identify the root causes of issues by analyzing patterns and trends
* A desire to deliver to a high standard in a suitable timeframe
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Preferred Skills

* Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline preferred
* Experience working with outsourced environments
* Knowledge of retail software systems Point of Sale (POS) and exposure to middleware Enterprise System Bus (ESB)
* PCI or SOX compliance experience helpful
* Well-developed analytical skills and Splunk knowledge very beneficial
* Ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize large amounts of information
