UOP, LLC, headquartered in Des Plaines, IL, is a leading international supplier and licensor of process technology, catalysts, adsorbents, process plants, and consulting services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, and gas processing industries. UOP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Inc. and is part of Honeywell's Performance Materials and Technologies strategic business group.

UOP Engineering, Services & Equipment (ES&E) - Digital Transformation Center (DTC) has an exciting opening for a software development enterprise architect to join our experienced engineering applications development team. This team creates exciting programs that use cutting edge IT technologies to support and enhance engineering design processes for UOP building refining and petrochemical plants customers. These programs are comprised of web-based applications, SharePoint work process solutions, client server applications, data mining system, Java/ NoSQL database system and chemical engineering expert systems.

DTC is embarking on an exciting and ambitious multiyear UOP engineering development plan that aims to revolutionize the UOP engineering design process by employing cloud computing technologies for enhanced automation and building of AI\Expert systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in developing our new Cloud computing-based business solutions, working side by side with the world's leading chemical engineering subject matter experts. You will play a key role leading a global development workforce of 80 in proposing and developing improvements to current engineering design processes in line with multi-year vision.

You will interface with the many aspects of this business to build new applications using Agile development methodologies. You'll enhance existing applications, proposing solutions to technical and business process problems. You will help build and drive adoption strategies for new solutions on both hardware and software functions throughout UOP engineering. Strategies will include training, mentoring, transitioning, and building an agile process that is compatible with the documented UOP design manuals and propose changes where necessary.

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical focus

10+ years of experience developing object-oriented applications and/or web development using industry leading technologies

WE VALUE

3+ years of experience as solution/enterprise architect in medium to large size organization supporting a user base of 500 users.

3+ years knowledge of commercial simulation programs or engineering databases and automations programming of such systems is highly desirable

2+ years experience developing intuitive UI both in Web and Windows apps.

2+ years experience developing windows services in n-tier client server environment

2+ years experience in multiple languages, including JAVA, Spring Framework, REACT, ANGULAR 2-4, VB.NET, C#.NET, WPF, MVC, XMAL, JAVA, VB, VBA and C++

2+ years experience with NoSQL databases (Postgres, GraphQL, Hadoop, MongoDB etc), Microsoft SQL server v2012 and up, Oracle 11g and up, Entity Framework

2+ years of Microservices architecture design experience with both client and server-side discovery services. Eureka, NGINX, AWS. Synchronous communication REST over HTTP, THRIFT. Asynchronous KAFKA and Active MQ.

2+ years experience in TDD/BDD platforms, Unit testing with Gherkin Scripts - MSTest, SpecFlow, rolling up to Regression Tests

Familiarity with Atlassian suite - JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, SonarCube, Crucible, Artifactory, Bamboo, CI/CD- Jenkins, experience
