Position Description

This is an opportunity to join the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management team in delivering technology solutions within Morgan Stanley's Institutional Client business. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, extremely proficient in Java or Scala, and has 3 to 5 yrs. professional experience.

In a developer role, responsibilities include analyzing and designing server side solutions, executing quickly on the development and testing for those solutions, and deploying on time to our financial advisors desks.

Contribute to all aspects of application development including functional and technical specifications, design, development and production support

Ensure high quality of deliverables while complying with development best practices

* Server side development experience which includes
* Strong Java
* Debugging skills
* Test Driven Development
* Object Oriented
* Database familiarity
* Design Patterns
* Strong Knowledge of JavaScript
* Strong Unix / Linux skills
* Ensure quality control by performing both automated and manual testing on deliverables; including performance tuning & stress testing
* Team oriented and can work well within a global collaborative model
* Be comfortable and adept at expressing your ideas in meetings, design sessions
* Good analytical and problem solving skills that are coupled with strong communication
* Self-sufficient and show ability to lead given the opportunity
