Find Security Engineer Jobs in the San Francisco Area

Security Engineers are vitally important to keep information, data and networks secure. As such, this is a highly sought after position by many companies across the country in a variety of industries. On any given day, they're required to identify and define system security requirements and weak spots, and then design security architecture for computers and develop detailed cyber security programs. This will then create and reinforce system boundaries and keep networks and computer systems more secure against attacks aimed at either disruption or gaining sensitive data. Security Engineers will also routinely report to management and other team members about the status of various issues and upgrades.

Security Engineers need to have detailed technical knowledge of operating system and database security, as well as experience in the creation and maintaining security systems. A four-year college degree in computer science or computer security related fields is often a minimum requirement, however, many companies will accept equivalent work experience as a substitute. Security Engineers also need to enjoy problem solving and have the ability to work under pressure when circumstances dictate.
