Join the E-Commerce team as a Web/UI Designer at U.S. Cellular in Chicago (near Rosemont). In regards to the job requirements for this role, of most importance is experience as a web developer and/or web designer working with HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript.

This role will be responsible for building and modifying web pages on uscellular.com with the goal of driving e-commerce sales by enhancing overall appeal and usability for the end user. (This is not a coding position).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop code for web pages using semantic HTML5, modern CSS3/SASS, and a moderate amount of Javascript to aid in page interactivity
* Utilize techniques to reduce page weight and increase speed of web page rendering
* Maximize search engine crawlability of all pages
* Ensure ADA compliance by conforming all pages to the WCAG level AA standard
* Build all experiences using Responsive Web Design such that a single codebase can support an optimized view for any screen size that consumes the content
* Translate wireframes, graphical mock-ups, and prototypes into working web pages
* Write the needed HTML5/CSS3/Javascript for all variants in A/B/multi-variate tests
* Partner with front-end developers and back-end engineers by providing consultation on or creating semantic HTML5/CSS3 snippets/pages
* Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to quickly iterate based on consultation with product owners, business stakeholders, and quality assurance professionals
* Contribute to the maintenance of the organization's digital style guide by writing HTML5/CSS3/Javascript for all web components
* Audit web pages created by third-party vendors to ensure compliance with SEO, WCAG, and page speed standards as well as conformance to the digital style guide
* Model compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

Job Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, web/graphic design, or human-computer interaction or similar field of study; or 4 years equivalent work experience
* 3+ years of experience as a web developer and/or web designer working with HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and JavaScript
* 3+ years of experience using an IDE such as Sublime Text or VS Code
* 3+ years of experience using a Content Management System such as Adobe Experience Manager
* 3+ years of experience using a non-SPA JavaScript framework such as jQuery
* 2+ years of experience using Photoshop or equivalent graphic design software
* 2+ years of experience using Axure or equivalent wire framing software
* Technically skilled, creative web designer with good verbal & written communication skills
* Proven experience developing web pages for small and medium-sized mobile devices (phones & tablets)
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated success collaborating and problem solving with stakeholders, project teams, and external partners
* On-the-job experience managing multiple projects at once
* Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal development of leadership skills, including the ability to learn and apply new techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of SPA JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React preferred
* Knowledge of web analytics packages such as Google Analytics or Mouse Flow preferred
* Content marketing/strategy and/or copywriting experience preferred
* Ability to quickly assimilate business and technical information required; business knowledge of the wireless industry a plus
