ISR Systems Segment is one of three L3 business segments, and provides a broad range of aerospace systems, security and detection systems, and pilot training.

The Systems Engineering position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.

The System Engineer is expected to:

* Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains


* Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements


* Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning


* Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements


* Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements


* Perform requirement traceability


* Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness


* Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements


* Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs


* Review and evaluate diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements


* Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals



A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and a minimum of 7 years systems engineering experience

* Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware


* Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support


* Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose


* Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process


* Experience writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements


* Experience conducting verification testing


* Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills


* Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers


* Experience developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans


* Willingness to travel



Strongly prefer:

* Active Secret security clearance with an investigation date of less than 5 years


* Aerospace/aircraft experience


* Configuration and integration of aircraft radio sets, satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment


* Analog and digital video distribution and interconnecting technologies integration


* Voice over IP (VoIP) integration


* Antenna transmit and receive characteristics for various antenna types



Desired:

* Active Top Secret security clearance with an investigation date of less than 5 years


* Security Professional Certification


* Network Professional Certification


* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Professional Certification


* RF distribution systems including RF down-converting, up-converting, transceivers, non-blocking switching, and electrically phase matched distribution architectures


* Agile experience


* Model-based Systems Engineering and Simulation experience



Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship. An active DOD Secret clearance is preferred.
