Our team of 15+ engineers is comprised mainly of full-stack developers. We work on single-page applications that are very client-side heavy. We are looking for our first UI Engineer to really focus on the front-end: use HTML/CSS/Javascript to build accessible, cross-browser designs that are performant and beautiful.
Responsibilities:
Own the implementation of our design system (Blocks), including helping other engineers contribute to Blocks
Work collaboratively across products with Designers and Full-Stack Engineers
Architect UI components that are modular and reusable
Spend the time to get high quality design details
Develop for and test on different devices and browsers
Offer technical opinions and expertise to inform decisions about PWA choices
Understand rendering and performance costs e.g. redraw, critical path, etc
Improve internal code structure through refactoring, code review, writing tests, and addressing technical debt
Identify, log, and fix bugs, including in-depth testing of new features
Share technical knowledge with other team members, collaborate on tasks, and give appropriate feedback

Requirements:
Expertise in Javascript/ES6 and at least one frontend framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue)
Efficient in HTML5, CSS, and CSS Preprocessors (e.g. Stylus, Less, Sass)
Eye for design
Experience writing production quality code, preferably in a product-based company
Smart, productive and tolerant of sarcasm
Self-motivated and curious, crafty and driven
Interested in building a friendly, collaborative, and transparent work environment
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience required
