About the Role

Uber has several thousand micro services behind the scenes that make up the Uber ecosystem. As a result, there is a ton of complexity in understanding the service dependency graph, deploying code and config, managing the resources each service uses and even in scaling the services automatically to meet our growing needs. To solve this, we are building a Next Gen Unified Deployment Compute Platform from the ground up that provides a unified experience to our service owners to provision & manage services and their resources and enables the services to scale both horizontally and vertically.

This Senior Technical Program Manager will lead the cross functional program in understanding the needs of our stakeholders across Uber, prioritizing feature requests and driving adoption to get them on the new deployment platform. To be successful they would require strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills and hands-on program management skills. The right candidate will be adept at writing technical specifications, influencing & partnering effectively with teams, owning program schedules and communicating at all levels of the organization. With thousands of developers located around the world producing millions of lines of code and configuration each year in various programming languages to build thousands of micro services, we are already releasing software at a scale that very few companies can match.

What You'll Do / What You'll Need / Bonus Points / About the Team What You'll Do

Work with Uber's Deployment Infrastructure team on building the Next Gen Deployment Compute Platform and driving adoption across all teams at Uber to onboard them to this platform.

What You'll Need

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science
* Distributed systems background is essential (preferably with a large service provider)
* 3+ years experience in a Technical Program Management or a related role
* Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with both technical and non-technical individuals.
* Strong organizational skills, successful track record of coordinating between multiple project stakeholders, technical program managers, and software development teams
* A strong track record of successful project execution & delivery for large scale, cross-functional projects
* Hands on experience with Agile methodologies

Bonus Points If

* Experience driving large scale Infrastructure migrations is preferred
* Complex program communications experience to keep all stakeholders aligned and informed
* Ability and experience working with teams across different time zones
* Proven leadership skills
* Software development work experience
