Job Description
Workday has an open position for an Operations Engineer in our growing Environments team. Successful candidate(s) will be part of a global team responsible for the availability of the Workday stack in our customer facing data centers and responding to our daily challenges. Key characteristics we are looking for; strong troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
* First responder to incidents through alerting system or ticketing system * Work closely with peer teams to resolve customer problems * Deliver daily tasks and where possible improve and automate * Support weekly service updates and other scheduled tasks * Trouble shoot a wide array of technologies * Participate in unplanned work * Contribute to our team knowledge base * this role will require a schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off
Experience
* 3-4 years spent in a troubleshooting/problem solving role * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Hands on Linux/Unix experience required * Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies * Experience using various monitoring tools (BigPanda, Sensu, WaveFront etc.) * Well-versed with a scripting language (bash, python, ruby, etc)
