Job Description
The Workday Development team is seeking innovative individuals who are passionate about quality and technology; people who want to work with up-to-date tool sets and modern testing methodologies. We put heavy emphasis and value on testing. We design and build our own test tools, which has helped us to achieve unparalleled customer satisfaction over the years. We are an innovator in the enterprise software space and, as a result, are able to consistently present our automation engineers with new learning and development opportunities.
As an Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to design and develop automated tests using innovative tools and frameworks. You will work closely with Quality and Product Management to build and execute automated test scenarios against the Workday application. Automated testing is a crucial aspect of our SaaS model and your contributions will directly impact the quality of the Workday product. The automated tests you develop will run as part of our continuous development environment, providing product quality feedback to Development and QA.
Responsibilities:
* Develop automated test scripts for software test validation
* Design test plans, to communicate test scope to project managers and stake holders
* Design test plans, to communicate test scope to project managers and stake holders
* Develop test cases that verify: user workflows, functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, defect fixes, and usability
* Develop automated quality assurance testing programs
* Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
* Design test reports, risk identification and defect analysis to communicate with project managers and stake holders
* Work closely with development, product management and functional QA teams
* You'll write automation using our proprietary automation tool.
Experience/Skills/Education:
* BS in Computer Science with a minimum of 3 years in a technical or software engineering position (preferably Test Automation and/or QA)
* Working knowledge of test automation patterns, test techniques, preferably in a Software as a Service (SaaS) or consumer internet experience industry
* Proven experience with delivering high quality software products within a full development lifecycle
* Experience with one or more of the following applications is highly desirable: Selenium, OATS, ANT, or TestNG
* Experience with testing web services with tools such as SoapUI, LoadUI, Postman
* Familiarity with web services standards: XML, XML Schema, SOAP, WSDL
