Software Engineer - Developer Tools Nextdoor

Job Description

The Developer Tools team develops and maintains the tools used to ship new features on Nextdoor. From the machinery that powers our continuous deployment process to our Dockerized development environments, we work on the systems that allow our engineering teams to go fast.

As a team with the mission of improving the developer experience at Nextdoor, we work closely with other teams to identify the areas of our development tooling that are painful to use, and make them better.

If you enjoy working on tools used by other engineers, collaborating with developers from across the entire engineering organization, and working on high impact improvements that reduce toil for everyone, we'd love to hear from you!

Requirements:

* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
* Deep understanding of the software development process, from development to testing and deployment
* Empathy towards other developers
* Experience managing build pipelines
* Experience deploying and supporting distributed architecture in the AWS cloud
* Comfortable troubleshooting issues in Linux and OSX environments
* Familiarity with Docker is a plus
