The Workday Supply Chain development team is looking for enthusiastic Application Developers with skills in developing enterprise applications. Do you live and breathe apps? Workday Supply Chain provides an end-to-end solution to manage all aspects of the materials management process for goods and supplies that are used internally. In addition to purchasing and receiving goods in Workday Procurement, Workday Inventory offers the flexibility to store inventory items, and track how you use and replenish them.

As a Software Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tackle complex problems, which comes with developing and delivering global mission critical enterprise software using your expertise in design, coding, algorithms and complexity analysis.

About the Role

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver features in the core Workday products.


* Contribute to proofs of concept to help steer the development approach for features.


* Understand and promote industry best practice.


* Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements



About You

* You're very familiar with object oriented design and development and have experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, and C#


* You have familiarity with Object Oriented Design Patterns


* You see software development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative and agile environment where you're always teaching and learning


* You can own something from start to finish.


* You have contributed to designing performant, scalable systems / applications.


* You understand the value of automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid.


* You have a strong desire to learn and improve at your craft.


* Takes initiative, exhibits creative thinking, has the drive to turn ideas into reality, and has a passion for user experience



Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

* A minimum of 3 years of Software Development experience including Unit Testing in a corporate setting


* A minimum of 1 year of UML Modeling


* Metadata-driven definitional development experience


* Basic experience with XML and Integration technologies


* 4 year degree in a computer related field or equivalent.
