Job Summary
Technical contributor for the research, development, integration, and test for new sensor systems to support maritime border situational awareness
The position can be located in the continental U.S. with occasional travel to the national capital region (NCR)
Participate in the project's technical integrated product team (IPT)
Convert goals, objectives, capability gaps and research and development requirements into functional requirements, concept of operations, system and network architectures to prepare for the integration and field test to meet program objectives
Core member of the technical team to integrate and demonstrate sensor systems to meet DHS goals and objectives on a yearly development cycle
Create and take ownership of technical description documents and test plans
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Technology field (EE, ME, EP, CS) or demonstrated equivalent
Must be able to pass Department of Homeland Security (DHS) entrance on duty (EOD) requirements
U.S. Citizenship
Work location in the continental U.S.
Position may require travel
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
Master's degree
Work location within the national capital region (NCR)
1 to 3-years' of relevant experience working with DHS Science and Technology (S&T), DHS Components including U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG)
5 plus years of relevant experience working with the U.S. Government
Deep understanding of multi-sensor environments and integration of such systems including communications backhaul and common operating pictures (COP) for the autonomous tracking, identification, and classification of items of interest in the maritime domain
Familiarity with maritime domain awareness capabilities and how to meet their objectives including effective range, detection performance, camera and radar performance, and multimodal communication technologies
Experience with the integration and field testing for a variety of sensor modalities
Demonstrated experience working with multiple government, contractor, subcontractor, and equipment supplier stakeholders to complete projects in compressed timeframes
