Our team is building a foundational service to enable individuals, organizations, developers, and partners to securely buy and sell, worldwide. For years our mission has been to protect Microsoft's financial interests as well as reputation through safeguarding Microsoft online transactions. Many of Microsoft's key businesses depend on our services 24x7 today - Windows Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox, Office 365, Azure, Dynamics, Bing Ads and Microsoft Rewards, to name just a few. This year we made our technology available to partners outside of Microsoft as Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection service.

We are the Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection team. Our modern anti-fraud platform leverages the newest technology from Microsoft Azure (Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, Spark, Service Fabric and more). It's a unique combination of best in class data science and cutting-edge technology running in the modern Cloud.

We are looking for a software engineer who is self-motivated and an great team player. Working on our team means learning and applying learned knowledge and techniques to improve our services. We are always in search for new ways to ingest, process and use data to identify ever changing patterns of fraud. We evaluate and experiment with new technology every day. As such, for candidates being passionate about technology overall, having deep understanding of fundamentals and embracing continuous learning can sometimes be more important than prior experience with a particular technology.

Basic Qualifications:

* 6+ years in software engineering roles
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field
* Coding experience in any modern programming language, C# preferred
* Understanding of modern programming techniques and concepts - multi-threaded and asynchronous programming, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms
* Strong software design skills - be able to design an efficient multi-component service to address a broad set of requirements
* Passion for technology
* Learner's mindset
* Creativity and problem-solving attitude
* Great communication and collaboration skills, being a great team player

Preferred Qualifications:

* Basic familiarity of machine learning/data science or readiness to learn and embrace
* Passion to learn and master building modern distributed machine learning services in the Cloud
* Experience and understanding of cloud engineering concepts, such as Service-Oriented architecture, Cloud computing, REST, WebAPI, HTTP, SSL, monitoring, multi-datacenter service designs, disaster recovery

Desired Skills and a willingness to learn:

* C# and .NET framework
* REST, WebAPI, ASP.NET
* Event processing techniques (Event hubs, Azure Stream Analytics)
* Big data processing (Azure Data Lake, Spark)
* Fundamentals of machine learning and data science

Being a part of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying to production new features of the Dynamics Fraud Protection platform. You will be working with the project management team to review and evaluate requirements, and then work with other software engineers and data scientists to come up with designs to implement the requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring services in production, proactively detecting, investigating and mitigating issues to ensure best quality of service for our customers. Your responsibilities include staying up to date with the latest cloud technologies, identify opportunities to improve existing services to reduce maintenance cost, improve performance and provide better customer experience.
