Job Description

REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree and at least ten years of relevant experience in project management, computer science, information systems, business administration, or other related field or fourteen years of experience without a bachelor's degree; experience managing full lifecycle projects within established deadline and budgets in higher education or the IT industry; and strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and duties simultaneously; manage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and conduct discussions with all levels of colleagues and peer groups; identify needs for changes in practices, processes, structures, systems, techniques and tools; and make timely decisions with limited consequences. Project management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum desired. Job #17312-12

Salary Range: $125 - $150,000

PROJECT MANAGER IV, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T), to play a critical role working with clients, external parties, vendors, and diverse members of the IS&T department in the planning, management, and execution of multiple complex projects across MIT. Will continuously search for creative ways to evaluate capabilities of technology systems by capitalizing on emerging technologies or adapting existing technologies that benefit MIT's faculty, students, staff, and affiliates. Responsibilities will involve developing and maintaining productive working relationships with business owners, project sponsors, key community partners, and IS&T colleagues; project planning; budget development; resource management; procurement planning; conducting project kickoff meetings; project monitoring and risk management; customer engagement; maintaining or developing standards and procedures; providing team coaching/mentoring; and performing other duties as requested.
