What You'll Do Here:

Cengage is growing! We are currently looking for a strong leader to help guide a team of software engineers in the Platform Analytics department. You will take an active role applying agile methodology crafting and implementing enterprise solutions to support internal and external customers. You will need to be ambitious, collaborative and have a proven ability to lead successful engineering teams focused on delivery.

Responsibilities:

* Lead a strong and engaged team focused on delivering quality products
* Clearly define and communicate work responsibilities to your team
* Work closely with each team member on their career and skills development to ensure growth within the organization
* Partner with multi-functional leaders to support standardize development, testing and release processes to ensure quality products are delivered on time
* Monitor and actively own the engagement and morale of your team
* Observe and communicate team metrics to ensure each person is functioning team well within their responsibilities and make adjustments where needed

Skills You Will Need Here:

Required

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, meaningful work experience
* Ability to lead and collaborate with remote employees and contractors across different time zones
* 5-8 years of software development experience with locally hosted and AWS cloud based services
* 3-5 years of management and leadership experience
* Experience with development methodologies, and project lifecycle principles
* Ability to successfully plan, organize, prioritize, execute and delegate work
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
