Job Description

The Manager, Software Development is part of our Product & Technology (P&T) organization within our Digital Service Group(DSG). You will lead the DSI team (Design, Solution, Intake) who are the primary points of contact for the intake and assessment process for DSG. In this role you will work across multiple domains while providing assessments, sharing portfolio and designing details across the larger P&T organization. You will support key decisions on various company initiatives, while you build a broader network across P&T.As America's Un-carrier, T-Mobile USA, Inc. * Accountable for ensuring delivery excellence while maintaining a product owner project mindset.
* Proven experience in solution design, leading, mentoring, and managing a team of Technical Analysts, and successfully operating in an iterative delivery model (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
* Proven ability to apply expert level experience to perform checks of team deliverables and solution design for quality, consistency, potential impacts to other processes and systems, and proper use of development principles
* Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management in groups and one-on-one.
* Proven experience with identifying and resolving development impacting issues, working with members of project management team and business SME's/executives to drive to solutions within defined processes.
* Extremely strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to assess and clearly communicate business value and technical and delivery risk
* Able to learn complex business operations quickly, work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, team-driven environment
* Must be able to multi-task, manage details, and keep sight of overall objectives.

Preferred

* Experience with Java, Spring, .Net, SQL, Oracle databases, and COTS products is highly desired.
* Familiarity with Microservices architecture, deployment, and development patterns
* 2-3 years of experience with RESTful APIs

Intake & Assessment

* Provides initial assessments and impacts for all DSG domains via the Working Model process
* Attends CIR and JRBD Sessions as required to understand initiative scope and requirements
* Shares initiative details/impacts with DSG internal team during Portfolio Review meetings
* Drives alignment on deciding which domains are responsible for building and owning capability functionality leveraging P&T capability model

Solution & Design

* Collaborates with stakeholders across P&T to determine MVP scope on initiatives to support fastest Time to Value
* Facilitates translation of business functional requirements to domain/system requirements
* Views the "big picture" of challenges impacting the customer experience, including the technical, functional, process, and creatively defines solutions to those challenges.
* Informs and evangelizes a strong customer focus and customer experience that aligns decision making with Information Technology investment choices and prioritization.
* Define, manage, and promote various activities for DevOps practices, including continuous design, continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing, and continuous monitoring.
* Accountable for ensuring delivery excellence while maintaining a product owner project mindset.

Relationship and People Management

* Effectively and efficiently communicates with technical and non-technical audiences.
* Lead a Solution Design team of 7-10 Technical analysts to design and implement features and use cases for new functionality and enhancement to existing products.
* Leadership of Career Development and Performance Reviews of Team Members

* Order Management, Commerce, Notifications, Customer Information, Identity Management, DICE, Cloud, and API COEs

Technology Leadership and Relationship Management:

* Act as a change agent, initiating appropriate changes to support business growth, reduce operational costs, and/or improve service levels.
* Define, manage, and promote various development activities for DevOps practices, including continuous design, continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing, and continuous monitoring.
* Work collaboratively with the software engineering teams to design continuous design and continuous integration best practices and processes.
* Plan staffing needs and allocations to support product design and development for cross-functional initiatives.
* Be responsible for the scheduling and on-time delivery of your team's deliverables, including HLD, User Stories, Domain Handoff Documentation, and other Solutioning Artifacts
* Display a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. Demonstrate strong initiative to make things happen.
* Display strong ambition in gaining skills and knowledge that benefit T-Mobile and its employees. Strong awareness of technology industry trends and best practices is key.
