POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Manager Database Administration - SQL Server will be responsible for implementing and supporting Enterprise Application solutions in alignment with the business strategy developed by internal business partners. This position will manage a team of SQL DBAs to support the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of the MS SQL and other databases. The Manager Database Administration - SQL Server will report to the Sr. Manager /Director, IS Enterprise Applications.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Responsible for SQL Databases, Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services.

* Responsible for SQL Databases, Reporting Services, Analysis Services and Integration Services.
* Responsible for leading the team in the requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of SQL Server infrastructure for large scale projects.
* Serve as a subject matter expert and/or technical solution architect on complex project implementations.
* Researches and recommends tools and procedures for increased infrastructure performance
* Manage project deliverables including system configuration, security hardening, license management, patch management, data center migration, SQL Server upgrade.
* Manage project plans and resource assignments.
* Meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution.
* Supervise direct reports and consultants, assign daily activities, ensure quality and timely delivery, and promote positive team spirit.
* Support upper management and other IT teams in decision making and provide timely and informative status reports.
* Manage relationship with business partners with regards to projects, enhancements, and support.
* Mentor and coach direct reports, conduct performance appraisals, assist in career goals and training plans, and follow HR's guidelines.

Researches and recommends tools and procedures for increased infrastructure performance

Responsible for leading the team in the requirements analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of SQL Server Application solutions for large scale projects as well as minor changes.

Responsible for managing custom Herbalife applications.

Manage project deliverables including system configuration, security hardening, license management, patch management, data center migration, SQL Server upgrade.

Supervise direct reports and consultants, assign daily activities, ensure quality and timely delivery, and promote positive team spirit.

Manage project plans and resource assignments.

Manage relationship with business partners with regards to projects, enhancements, and support.

Ensure application roadmap is aligned with business priorities and strategy.

Meet service level agreements for production support response and resolution.

Serve as a subject matter expert and/or technical solution architect on complex project implementations.

Follow documentation, software development methodology, version control and testing, and migration standards.

Support upper management and other IT teams in decision making, and provide timely and informative status reports.

Mentor and coach direct reports, conduct performance appraisals, assist in career goals and training plans, and follow HR's guidelines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage a group of 4 - 10 Database Administrators of all levels

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

* Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 ,2014, 2016 & 2017
* Azure - IAAS, PAAS and SAAS
* MS Office, PowerShell
* TSQL Scripting, Clustering, Replication, Always-On. Strong understanding of relational databases (i.e. tables, views, indexes, stored procedures etc.).
* Monitoring tools like Quest Litespeed, Spotlight, Foglight and Performance Analysis.
* Substantial experience in a customer service role with direct responsibility for management of client/account.
* Ability to identify system impact for small- and large-scale initiatives.
* Knowledge of Project and Software Development Life Cycle Methodologies.
* Experience with change management tools and processes.

Experience:

* 7 years' experience in IT/Technology.
* 5 years' experience in SQL Server Administration
* 2 years management experience.
* Experience working for a mid to large size firm and supported 2008 to 2017 SQL environments.
* Experience working with Replication, Mirroring, Availability Group, MS clustering on both physical and virtual environments.
* Experience working with teams located geographically

Education:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a field related.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a field related.
* Experience working with SQL Server 2008 R2 and higher versions
* Experience working in a heterogeneous database environment.
* Certification in SQL Administration
