Position Summary

Membership (Credit, Marketing & E-biz) Java/.NET Developer. Candidate should ensure design and development of systems that meet specifications and requirements of project and overall business needs with little supervision. The Membership Java/.NET Developer will work alongside product owner, functional analyst and systems developers, handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Hands on coding & technical knowledge is required. They must work with the Membership development team as peers and be able to communicate effectively with extended project team members.

Job Duties

Essential Functions:

* Responsible for planning, detailed technical design, and delivery of quality solutions for Java/.NET application
* Proficient in areas of distributed architecture involving integration with multiple systems and applications
* Coordinates and collaborates with multiple teams and understands the "big picture" while making decisions for development solutions
* Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents
* Provides accurate and timely estimates (work breakdown schedules)
* Participates in team activities and team planning in regards to improving team skills, awareness and quality of work
* Participates in peer-reviews of solution design, conduct code reviews, enforcing coding standards and best practices
* Where required, exhibits leadership by directing team to a successful completion and closure of assigned work efforts
* Provides Java/.NET support including analysis, development, testing, tracking and resolution
* Responsible for continued personal growth in the areas of technology, business knowledge, and Costco policies and platforms
* Provides work day and after hours support as needed

Non-Essential Functions:

* Assists in other areas of the department as necessary
* Assists in other departments of the company as necessary

Experience, skills, education & licenses/certifications

Required:

* Experience with Web and UI development using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
* Proficient with C# .Net, with a strong knowledge of its ecosystems and Middleware technology
* Experience with Java programming, with a strong knowledge of EJB, JMS and JSP
* Have working knowledge of Web Services, SOAP, and XML technologies
* Experience programming in one major database: DB2, MS SQL, or Oracle
* Unit test development and execution of Java and .NET applications
* Self-motivated, flexible, openness to learn new things, Strong focus on customer needs
* Must have the ability to work with limited supervision and exhibit a strong sense of urgency
* Collaborate with analysts, designers, & system owners in the testing of Costco Membership software programs and applications
* Experience of working with teams cross domains
* Experience in successful project implementation and follow-up
* Strong conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting and resolution skills
* Ability to monitor and manage the progress of tasks
* Good decision-making skills
* Demonstrates a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritization
* Demonstrates a high level of communication skills, verbal and written

Recommended:

* Knowledge of Azure cloud technology
* Familiarity with SAP ABAP development a plus
* Ability to stay aware of current trends and technical advancements
* Ability to grow into a Team Leader and role-model
* Knowledge of Costco's Business and Membership Operations
* Successful internal candidates will have spent one year or more on their current team
